4th issue - Nitya-seva newsletter

January, 2015 - 4th issue

  Dear Devotees,

As promised, this issue of the newsletter will answer questions readers have asked regarding the payment of Nitya-seva in instalments. We’ll also answer the enquiries we’ve received about the connection between Seva-puja and Nitya-seva.

“Is it possible to pay a Nitya-seva in instalments?”
Yes, it is. If your desire is to sponsor a whole day, then the monthly instalment for five years is 250 EUR (185 GBP, 285 USD). If you would like to increase an already existing Nitya-seva commitment, then the monthly instalment is less of course, depending on the amount already paid.

If you are a starter, you can choose a day after the first instalment is paid. However, if for some reason the monthly instalments don't arrive for three consecutive months, then your chosen day becomes available for others to choose. Of course, you won’t lose the laksmi already paid.

“What should I do if I’m not able to donate a large amount, but still want to contribute to the Nitya-seva project?”
We accept any donation. Donors donating at least 3500 EUR (2600 GBP, 4000 USD) will have a plaque in their name.

“Is it possible for a group to put together the monthly instalments?”
Of course! We make two requests in this regard: if you form a group, name that group and select a leader with whom we can communicate. And to make the administration easier, we ask that you not send your part of the payment individually, but give it to the head of the group who can pay a collective amount. When sending the money, state the name of your group so we know who you are.

“I’ve been a Seva-puja donor for a long time. I don’t have the funds to donate more, but I’m thinking of switching to Nitya-seva. Is it possible? Which one is more important?”
Both of them are important. If you read the Nitya-seva brochure carefully, you can see the chart that lists the Deities’ expenses: the existing Seva-puja donations are also listed. The present amount of the Nitya-seva has been calculated according to the shortfall. The Seva-puja is immediate income for the pujari department, while the Nitya-seva is a long-term investment. So if you are a regular Seva-puja donor you can continue with that, and if you want to offer anything extra towards Nitya-seva, that is welcome.

“What if I’m not a regular Seva-puja donor, but I wish to do so?”
We won’t accept Seva-puja donations from new donors now: those wishing to donate will automatically be directed to the Nitya-seva investment fund. You can still choose the day you would like to sponsor, but these donations won’t be dealt with as Seva-puja. However, for those devotees who have been contributing to Seva-puja regularly, that can be continued.

We are happy to hear from you with any questions or enquiries. Please contact us ([email protected]). And we would like to say thank you for your contributions to Sri Sri Radha-Syama’s and Gaura-Nitai's daily worship!

Jaya Radha-Syama!
